Woody Allen Movie Marathon(xix)

Today is the last day of my long marathon since last year Dec.
Melinda and Melinda is about how the same incident that happen in our life can turn out to be either comedy or tragedy based on how we deal with it.

As in Match Point, you might be right on something but sometime people just got lucky to prove you wrong.

2004 Melinda and Melinda
2005 Match Point

Hope to continue the next marathon of his movies in future.

Woody Allen Movie Marathon(xviii)

Today I finish two Woody Allen's film.
I like the last quote from Anything Else.
DOBEL : "IN LIFE, THERE'LL BE NO SHORTAGE OF PEOPLE WHO'LL TELL YOU HOW TO LIVE. THEY'LL HAVE ALL THE ANSWERS WHAT YOU SHOULD DO AND NOT DO. DON'T ARGUE WITH THEM. SAY,"YES, THAT'S A BRILLIANT IDEA," AND DO WHAT YOU WANT."

2002 - Hollywood Ending
2003 - Anything Else

Woody Allen Movie Marathon(xvii)

Today is a special  one. It is a documentary about Woody Allen. He manage to talk around 90 min non-stop.

2002 - A life in film.

Woody Allen Movie Marathon(xvi)

This is one of the early Woody Allen movie that I started to watch back in early 2001. The theme music is very entertaining. Woody Allen really have his own taste on music selection.

The theme music
In the Persian Market

2001 The Curse of the Jade Scorpion

Woody Allen Movie Marathon(xv)

Today continue watch three more Woody Allen's movies, one is in black and white and the other one is a mockumentary style movie. The last one is a bit more black comedy movie.
Both the first two movies have a similar theme, the main character thought he wanted more and left what he love the most for nothing in the end.
The third one is written by the Coen brother who is the best in black comedy.
Love the line by Woody Allen, "What good is being twice as big if I can't get a cheeseburger?"

1998 Celebrity
1999 Sweet and Lowdown
2000 Small Time Crooks

Woody Allen Movie Marathon(xiv)

Today watch a very wonderful movie by Woody Allen. It has a few very funny scene by Julia Louis-Dreyfus at the start scene and Demi Moore part. It is worth a rewatch.

1997 Deconstructing Harry

Woody Allen Movie Marathon(xiii)

Just finish the movie, a very light and enjoyable musical movie. It also have Natalie Portman also. Very nice indeed.

1996 Everyone Says I Love You

Trivia: Edward Norton and Tim Roth were in the movie also. The latest that I remember of them together is in The Incredible Hulk.

Woody Allen Movie Marathon(xii)

1995 Mighty Aphrodite

Woody Allen Movie Marathon(xi)

Woody Allen Movie Marathon(ix)

Today the movie is a bit different. Woody Allen join with Martin Scorsese and Francis Ford Coppola in New York Stories where each of them to direct a nearly 40 min of short movie.

Woody Allen's title is Oedipus Wreck.

1989 New York Stories

Woody Allen Movie Marathon(viii)

In the start of year 2012, I manage to watch 2 more of the movies

1988 Another Woman

1989 Crimes and Misdemeanors

The Another Woman soundtrack is very nice

Erik Satie - Gymnopedie No. 3

Crimes and Misdemeanors is very black on the story line.

Woody Allen Movie Marathon(vii)

In this last day of 2011, I watch only

1987 September

A very sad movie to watch on this day.

Woody Allen Movie Marathon(vi)

Today due to time matter, I only manage to finish one only

Radio Days 1987

In this movie, it has a few scene that is very touching.

One of it is that they dance around one a latin song.

Quota that I like:

I hope 1944 turns out well.

They pass so quickly.

Where do they all go?

So quickly. And then we get old.

And we never knew

what any of it was about.

That's right.

--------------------

I wonder if future generations

will ever even hear about us.

It's not likely.

After enough time... everything passes.

I don't care how big we are,

or how important in their lives.

---------------------------------

I never forgot that New Year's Eve,...

...when Aunt Bea awakened me

to watch 1944 come in.

1196

01:21:37,640 --> 01:21:40,438

And I've never forgotten

any of those people,...

...or any of the voices

we used to hear on the radio.

Although the truth is, with the passing

of each New Year's Eve,...

...those voices do seem

to grow dimmer and dimmer.

---------------------------------------

Woody Allen Movie Marathon(v)

Today two movie,

The Purple Rose of Cairo 1985

Hannah and her sister 1986

Woody Allen Movie Marathon(iv)

Today I manage to finish 4 more of his collection:

Stardust Memories 1980

A Midsummer Night Sex Comedy 1982

Zelig 1983

Broadway Danny Rose 1984

Zelig is a very unique movie, it is a mock-up documentary style movie about a man that can change into any one that he meet.

Woody Allen Movie Marathon(iii)

Today I continue with

Interiors 1978

Manhattan 1979

Interiors is Woody Allen’s drama movie and the story line is very heavy.

Manhattan is shot in full black and white.

Woody Allen Movie Marathon (ii)

Today manage to finish 1 movie only

1977 Annie Hall

This is one of the best work from Woody Allen.

Not a happy ending story to be say so.

Woody Allen Movie Marathon (i)

Lucky most of his movies are only 90 minutes long.

Today list are

1972 Play it again, Sam
