Current in market Apple device that still using A10 CPU is iPod Touch 7th Gen, iPad 2018, iPad 10.2 2019 and just retired iPhone 7.
The CPU was introduced in 2016 Sep and Apple still think the CPU is capable to handle the current OS requirement. So either the CPU is really ahead of its time or Apple just cheap out.
In software cycle, the new devices should entitled for a few updates before Apple decided to retired the CPU.
Current already retired CPU is the A8 which where launched at 2014 Sep. In theory, the A10 will have another 2 years of software update.
